
Peter (โPeteโ) Ireland is an award-winning film producer, writer and director from Sydney, Australia. Since 2010, his films and TV series have been selected for Australian Academy (AACTA) accredited, FIAPF accredited and Oscar accredited film festivals; broadcast on television in Australia and Europe, and screened in many other film/TV festivals in Australia and internationally. In 2015, Peteโs documentary film โChipโ won at the Australian Academy Awards (AACTAs) โSocial Shortsโ and he worked for Matchbox Pictures (subsidiary of NBCUniversal) and Screen NSW. In 2019 Pete was selected for the Berlinale Talents program as part of the Berlin International Film Festival, and his film โPilรจโ won โbest short filmโ at the 37th ATOM Awards. In 2021, Peteโs film โRisenโ won โBest Sci-fiโ at the Oscar-accredited LAShorts Fest and he was consulting producer on the AACTA nominated feature โLonesomeโ. In 2022, โRisenโ was nominated for an ATOM Award and โBest SciFiโ at the FilmQuest Film Festival, Peteโs comedy series โRompโ was shortlisted for a Rose DโOr Award, and his โChildren of Laikaโ script was one of two winners in a major U.S. screenplay competition. In 2023, โRompโ won silver at the world-renowned โTelly Awardsโ; and Peteโs TV series concept won the pitch competition at โJust For Laughsโ. In 2024 Peteโs film โBogan Mothsโ won a gold Telly Award, and his film โLine Riderโ won a FIPRESCI Critics Prize as well as being nominated for 'Best Documentary at the FilmQuest Film Festival. Pete is a member of Screen Producers Australia, the Australian Academy (AACTA) and the Documentary Producers Alliance (DPA).
