Bio
Judith Mizrachy is a New York City-based independent producer. Her recent film UNCROPPED (director D.W. Young / executive producer Wes Anderson), about the great Village Voice photographer James Hamilton, premiered as the Centerpiece at DOC NYC in 2023 and opened theatrically in 2024. Variety named it “One of the Best Documentaries of the Year.” Her previous film, THE MARTHA MITCHELL EFFECT (directors Anne Alvergue & Debra McClutchy/ producing partner Beth Levison), premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for a 2023 Academy Award® for Best Short Documentary. It was released globally on Netflix on June 17, 2022 on the 50th anniversary of Watergate. THE BOOKSELLERS (director D.W. Young, producing partner Dan Wechsler / executive producer Parker Posey), a behind-the-scenes look at the rare book community, premiered at the New York Film Festival in 2019 and was released around the world.
Judith’s films have screened at festivals including Sundance, New York Film Festival, Hot Docs, Full Frame, SXSW and DOC NYC. Her work has been shown on big screens around the world including Lincoln Center, Brooklyn Academy of Music, TIFF Bell Lightbox, Bertha DocHouse London, and Tokyo Shinjuku Cinemas, and on small screens via Netflix, The Criterion Channel, The New Yorker and more.
Judith previously served as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Women Make Movies and the Director of Outreach at First Run Features. She’s participated on festival juries and screening committees and works with filmmakers as a consultant. Judith graduated from Vassar College and also holds a master's degree in Cinema Studies from NYU.
