Bio
John Yaworsky is an award-winning creative producer director with 20 years of
traditional and new media production experience on feature films, commercials,
online education, corporate communications and documentaries.
Most recently John created the media strategy and produced and directed 800
video pieces for 80 online courses for Johns Hopkins and Georgetown
Universities. John has also created content for Northwestern School of
Communications and Northwestern Law (now Pritzker).
John has produced for The BBC, British Channel Four, Japanese NHK, German
ZDF, and PBS and has consulted, produced and directed projects for major
corporations including Abbott, AbbVie, Amgen, Boeing, CDW, Dover, Groupon,
Lanzatech and Hospira.
John works in the community as a producer and media consultant for public
interest groups, start-ups and non-profits. As a member and mentor at 1871
and 2112 and mentor at ISTI in Chicago he helps individuals and organizations
with media strategy and marketing. He was the Executive Producer of Live Kindly
Media, a Producer with Storybolt, was the President of the Board for Living Earth
Television and served on The New Ideas Initiative, The Illinois Council for the
Prevention of Violence, Wilmette Cares and was an adjunct professor teaching
Digital Cinema at DePaul University.
John has earned numerous awards including a local Emmy, three Tellys, the
Kodak Award, a Cine Golden Eagle as well as Best Feature and Audience Award
at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival and Tribeca Independent Features
Festival and has served as a judge at several film and screenplay festivals and
competitions.
