Bio
Teddy Cannon is a Los Angeles-based Archival & Clearance Producer with over 25 years of experience in film and television. He is the founder of Crux Entertainment, Inc., a full-service production services company specializing in Archival, Clearance, and Legal support for documentary, scripted, unscripted, true crime, sports, and commercial content.
Over the course of his career, Teddy has served as Archival & Clearance Supervisor on projects for Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Starz, Peacock, CBS, NBC, Hallmark, Amazon, Showtime, Discovery, Nat Geo, BET, and Univision, among others. His credits include Homicide: NY & LA (Dick Wolf/Netflix), Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told (Hulu), Magic City: An American Fantasy (Starz), This Is The Zodiac Speaking (Netflix), The W – WNBA Documentary (CBS), and multiple projects for The Springhill Co. and Nike.
Through Crux Entertainment, Teddy works alongside an entertainment attorney to provide productions with a complete legal layer — including talent and location releases, fair use review, and clearance opinion letters for E&O insurance — ensuring projects are protected from development through delivery.
Teddy is passionate about educating the documentary filmmaking community on the critical importance of integrating archival and clearance thinking early in the production process. In his experience, more than 50% of the time decision makers don't engage this expertise until it's too late — jeopardizing budgets, timelines, and distribution. Crux exists to change that.
