Bio
Erica L. Taylor is a documentary and unscripted producer and advocate dedicated to justice and opportunities for the underrepresented. A native of St. Louis, MO, her work in film, television and radio has allowed her to connect and tell the stories of legends in entertainment. A graduate of Spelman College, Erica is an impact
documentary filmmaker with a spiritual focus on women’s issues and socioeconomic disparities. She holds production credits in national urban radio, award-winning network television, podcasting and film. In 2019, Erica produced The Invisible Vegan
documentary which led to her current project in production, Red Alert: The Fight
Against Fibroids, aimed at giving visibility to the vast number of women suffering from uterine fibroid tumors. Having survived reproductive health trauma, Erica is now an advocate for women’s health under her own Red Alert Project brand and has served as the National Ambassador for the Fibroid Fighters Foundation and USA Fibroid Centers. In 2022, the Red Alert Project received major support from Myovant Sciences and is now an official community partner under their Uterine Health Guide and served as a member of the Uterine Health Advisory Board for Myovant Sciences and Pfizer, Inc.
Erica is dedicated to contributing to the advancement of women and minorities in production through her elected service as President of the Documentary Producers Alliance. She recently led the organization's rebranding efforts and looks forward to furthering their initiatives toward producer equity and sustainability. She is an active Video Production Advisory Board member at Collin College in Dallas, a member of Brown Girls Doc Mafia, The Video Consortium and the Global Impact Producers Alliance. Erica is proud to be of service to the community as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. In 2023, she was the sole recipient of a full scholarship to the Looky Looky Pictures Guided Campaign program for Impact Producers. Her advocacy work continues as an advisor for industry research aimed at increasing inclusivity and opportunities for documentary producers.
