The mission of the Documentary Participant Empowerment Alliance (DPEA) is to bring vital resources to all those who have appeared in or are considering appearing in documentary films. These resources include legal, mental health, counseling, mediation, and mentorship opportunities. They also aim to educate documentary and “based-on-true-life” filmmakers in how to ethically engage with their film participants and characters.
