Report

Original quantitative and qualitative research including: a keyword analysis of end-of-life related scripted TV and film content from 2010-2020; a character analysis that investigated age, gender, race, and cause of death of scripted characters; and interviews with industry creatives to understand their attitudes and experiences regarding end-of-life storytelling. Media anthropologist Rebecca Pardo synthesized the findings and conducted an analysis of relevant scholarly research to contextualize these insights within a broader body of knowledge.
